To most people, Easter is synonymous with chocolate. Sure, for some folk there's a bit of religion in there, while others will see it simply as the end of a long, cold winter - but for the vast majority of the world's greedy population, it's all about the sweet stuff.

And as the big day rolls around, you'll all no doubt be stockpiling chocolate by the bucketload, keeping a keen eye out for what's on offer and, more importantly, what's good.

Well, we'll tell you what's looking particularly tempting, and that's a giant version of the now-famous Lindt chocolate bunny.

Just like its pint-sized original, the giant 1kg bunny is made up of delicious smooth milk chocolate, and comes wrapped up in golden foil with its signature red collar and bell.

The bunny will set you back £39.99 - a bit of a steal, given how much joy it will probably bring you as the largest of Lindt's Gold Chocolate Bunny family.

Considering that the nutritional information per 100g indicates just one tenth of this beast is 550 calories, some basic quick maths indicates that the giant version contains a whopping 5,550 calories.

"The Lindt 1kg Milk Chocolate Gold Bunny is the ultimate Easter gift that is sure to impress anyone who receives it!" the Lindt website says.

"As the largest in the Gold chocolate Bunny family, it is perfect as a family Easter gift to share out and enjoy together.

"This beautiful milk chocolate bunny has been carefully crafted using the highest quality and finest ingredients by The Lindt Master Chocolatiers; you will want to savour every mouthful of this delicious Lindt Milk Chocolate Gold Bunny."

The Lindt chocolate bunny, which is now a popular staple of every Easter, was first introduced back in 1952. The tale that the company like to spin is that one March morning a Lindt master chocolatier saw a little bunny in his garden.

The man's young daughter became mesmerised by the bunny, and started crying when it ran off into the bushes, so he decided to recreate the animal in chocolate - because chocolate solves everything, of course - before wrapping it in gold foil, adding a red ribbon and a golden bell so that it could not get lost again. D'awww.

Face it, you gave up on the post-Christmas diet about two days after you started it, so it looks like it's time to faceplant 1kg of milk chocolate. Hooray!
