Man Recreates Greggs Sausage, Bean And Cheese Melt And They Look Spot On

Ideal if you're missing your Greggs fix

Another day, another person perfecting a much-loved favourite food that you can't get due to the ongoing lockdown and on today's menu is the Greggs sausage, bean and cheese melt. A classic, I'm sure you'll agree.

Ollie Eats shared the recipe and, fair play, they do look pretty bloody good.

If you fancy making them yourself, you'll need some puff pastry (shop bought is fine), an egg, salt, pepper and, of course, cheese, beans and sausages.

Ollie slices the skin lengthwise on the sausages and scoops out the meat which he then rolls into balls.

He then cuts his pastry into four rectangles and starts loading two of them up with the beans and sausage meatballs, before topping with cheese and seasoning with salt and pepper.

He then pops on another sheet of pastry, closes the sides with a fork and scores the pastry so that puffs up in the oven.

Then he puts the two pasties into the oven for half an hour at 180C.

Et voila, you've got yourself a couple of pasties worthy of Britain's favourite bakery chain.

If it's not Greggs you're missing but a different fast-food treat, then never fear because I bet you someone, somewhere has made a half-decent attempt at a home recipe.

In recent weeks we've seen a KFC chicken recipe that was 18-months in the making, a '10/10 Big Mac' and some McDonald's Cheese Bites using Babybel, breadcrumbs and an egg.

Restaurants and food chains have even got in on the act, with Nando's and Ikea both dropping recipes so you can have a bash at making them at home.

In fact, Greggs even released its sausage, bean and cheese melt recipe earlier this month. And, as you can imagine, it's not a million miles away from Ollie's.

The bakery has also shared recipes for other popular items, including the chicken bake and steak bakes.

Greggs has promised there's 'more easy-to-follow recipes on the way' so now's the time do dust off your pinny and get into the kitchen.

You can check out more of Ollie's amazing looking food creations on his TikTok and Instagram pages.
