Pescatarians Look Out: Morrisons Launches Massive Fish And Chips Meal

Pescatarians Look Out: Morrisons Launches Massive Fish And Chips Meal

It's only available at the supermarket's cafes but £8.50 for 350 grams for a chippy is decent

British supermarkets sporadically put out humongous steaks and for that we are eternally grateful because they truly are delicious.

But they've been seriously lacking in the seafood arena...until now.

Morrisons is now upping the ante by introducing a whopper of a fish and chips meal deal. Weighing in at 350 grams, which is double the size of the retailer's normal serving, the battered haddock will likely keep you full for a few days.

Not only that, but the deal comes with a double portion of chips, peas and a cheeky wedge of lemon. Um, sign me up, please.

You can only get these bad boys from the Morrisons Market Street Café's dotted around the UK, which sadly means it's not available in all the stores.

But, incredibly, you won't have to take out a small mortgage to pay for it as the meal is available for just £8.50. It's goddamn huge.

Helen Tordoff, Head of Cafés at Morrisons... aka fish banter in chief... says: "Our customers love fish and chips but some a-fish-ionados (see what we mean...?) with big appetites wanted a bigger plate of their favourite dish. The meal is also great value for money and hand battered to order."

Now, if fish isn't your thing, then rest assured, Morrisons Café has you covered.

It's recently launched the Big Daddy Breakfast, which features 19, yes, nineteen, items.

Served up on a plate so giant we're pretty sure it's theoretically a serving platter, the breakfast includes three rashers of British bacon, three British pork sausages, three hash browns, two fried eggs, two slices of black pudding, two slices of fried bread, two half tomatoes, baked beans and sliced mushrooms.

Make sure you arrive with room in your stomach.

Helen says: "Our standard cooked breakfast is one of our most popular meals on the menu, but customers have asked for one that's even bigger.

"The 'Big Daddy Breakfast' is an excellent choice for customers with a big appetite."

With eight more items than Morrisons' standard breakfast, the massive meal will set you back just £6 - and is available at in-store cafés now.

Sounds like way less of a bum deal than the full English one tourist received while on holiday in Cyprus, sharing his disappointing experience on Reddit by posting a picture of the slightly baffling plateful.

The photo, shared by Reddit user Spicerldn, shows a chopping board containing a frankfurter sausage, baked beans, what looks like slightly undercooked bacon, a single fried egg and a tomato covered in seasoning. Oh and there was some salad, too. Not really in the spirit of the full English, that nod to healthy eating, but there we go.
