Sweet Potato Fries Exist At McDonald's Yet It's Just Out Of Reach

Some people absolutely swear by sweet potato fries over normal chips. Whether it's the smoother, sweeter flavour, the texture or just the colour, people seem to go bloody wild over the chip style.

It seems as though it's so popular that McDonald's has decided to bring it into selected restaurants.

According to the Sun, the delicious fingers of goodness are available in Norway and Sweden for now, which is great for Scandinavians but where are they for the rest of us?

If you have a quick scan over social media, it's not as if demand isn't high.

While it doesn't seem as though they'll be brought to the UK at any time in the future, there was a glimmer of hope when a Twitter user questioned why the hell they weren't in every deep fryer across Britain.

The fast food empire replied to her, saying: "Thanks for reaching out! Menu items vary by restaurant and/or franchisee. Let your favorite store know you want Sweet Potato Fries on the menu!"

So you're saying if enough of us send in requests to our local Maccies then there's a chance?

In 2015, sweet potato fries became a staple of Texan McDonald's meals after a decision was made to trial them in the land where everything is bigger. Sadly though, it seems as though it wasn't popular enough as it was eventually taken off the menu.

Until Maccies decides to get its act together with the sweet potato fries, at least we can revel in their new cheesy bites and chicken select shareboxes.

The two new share boxes are available exclusively through McDelivery, which has recently been rolled out to include over 200 restaurants, so it shouldn't be too difficult to get your greasy paws on a box.

The delicious treats are on offer from 14 June to coincide with the start of the World Cup.

Is there any better way to enjoy watching athletes in peak-physical condition compete against each other than with a massive box of fried food in your hand? There's not. I'm telling you now.

The Chicken Selects sharebox comes with nine pieces of chicken and dips, whereas the Monterey Jack Cheese Melts sharebox has 15 of the delicious little buggers, plus dips. Get one, get both, get four of each - like I said, no judgement here.

To get some you'll need to use the McDelivery service, but if anything that's an added bonus because it means you don't have to move off your lazy arse. Win/win.
