The rug went down a treat...

How much has everyone been missing steak bakes from Greggs? So much that other things have started to morph into the fan-favourite pastry.

Take this woman's mustard rug as a prime example. She shared a shot of her new living room feature and people couldn't help but compare it to the good ol' Greggs steak bake.

The picture of the new living room set up was shared on the Facebook group DIY On A Budget Official with the caption 'Love my new rug'.

Fortunately, so did everyone else - but many for different reasons, as the furnishing clearly resembles the savoury snack.

One person wrote: "Haha, at first glance I thought that actually was a steak bake photoshopped on to a floor."

Another added: "Rug on FB got me proper starving for a steak bake," with a third commenting: "This is what happens when you buy a rug from Greggs."

If this got you desperate for a Greggs, you'll be pleased to know that the bakery chain is back open following the closure due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Greggs is back open.

They reopened 800 stores on 18 June and are currently carrying out a phased return with other stores expected to open in early July.

Team members are being trained in all of the protective measures that are being introduced, which include some of the things we're getting used to seeing, including floor markings and signs for social distancing, protective screens at counters, hand sanitiser being available and encouragement of contactless payment.

Greggs has also introduced a one-way system to help ensure social distancing is carried out at all times. Only one adult per household will be permitted to enter the shop at a time to join a social distanced queue, and there will be a reduced number of colleagues behind the tills.

All shop teams will be provided with protective work-wear, including face masks, visors and gloves.

Reps for the store have also confirmed that there will be a reduced menu, like we've seen in other fast food and takeaway restaurants, but it seems to have most of the favourites, including the main baked savoury and sweet treats, as well as a selection of sandwiches and breakfast items (yes, the vegan sausage roll is on there).

Imagine wolfing down a steak bake and sitting on that impeccable rug.
