Girlfriend Turns Off FIFA 19 To Watch Love Island - Boyfriend Is Furious

Anthony Munday was on set to win his VERY. FIRST. TITLE.

We can all get irritated with our other half from time to time. Leaving the toilet lid in positions that don't suit our immediate needs, throwing wet towels on to the bed or turning FIFA off mid-way through a game that could potentially win us our first title on pro clubs.

We wouldn't be that surprised if you found yourselves internally squirming at the latter scenario (we won't judge), but that was reality for Anthony Munday when his girlfriend wanted to watch Love Island... and this was his reaction.

Anthony was NOT happy about what happened the previous evening.

Anthony, 30, was four matches deep with his friends who all play for 'Nik Naks Utd' (thanks to a combined love of the Rib 'n' Saucy flavour crisps) when his partner, Laura Davidson, also 30, turned off the PlayStation - from the wall. Oh boy, she meant business.

The reason for this is that Laura, a supermarket worker, is hooked on ITV's Love Island and has been since it started.

It was getting close to 9pm and it was the episode where Amber walked back in from Casa Amor to find Michael coupled up with Joanna - no, I'm not watching it at all (and apologies for any potential spoilers).

Anthony was so close to bagging himself a title.

Speaking to LADbible, Laura said: "They'd been playing a few games and 'won four matches on the bounce' according to them. This was getting close to 9pm and they all agreed over the headsets that they'd do 'one more game'.

"I was fine with this as it would take it nicely to 9pm in time for Love Island. As a Love Island fan, who had watched religiously for four weeks, it was going to be a juicy episode.

"They played that game, and then were like 'oh one more game'. I'm like 'No, absolutely not,' but he did it anyway, so out of sheer despair, I turned the PlayStation off at the wall because I didn't know what else to do."

Laura and Anthony in happier times...

Laura continued: "Then I went to work the next day and he hadn't messaged me at all. That's when he sent me the message saying 'we need a talk'. Our lives are controlled by his football obsession.

"That 'one more game' would have got him a title win. But I needed to see Amber's reaction. And didn't want to wait for catch-up."

Speaking about Anthony's thoughts on the subject, Laura added: "He says any lad reading it will be on his side and it will backfire on me. I'm hoping some FIFA widows will feel my pain."

We can't see this one blowing over any time soon...
