.Birthdays have been hard to beat since that year my mum hired out an indoor five-a-side pitch and invited all the boys from my class to don their finest England shirts and tatty astros.
Jack Reynolds has no such problem. He turned 104 on the April 6 this year and celebrated by becoming the oldest person ever to get a tattoo.
For those of you with a keen memory, 'Jacko' became the oldest person to do an ice bucket challenge a few years back when he was 102 years old - wearing just his Union Jack boxers.

Jack went with his daughter, Jayne Goodwin, 55, and grandson, Shane Spencer, 35, to Pete Who's Tattoos in Chesterfield. He got 'Jacko' and his date of birth inked on his upper arm in his own handwriting.
They even hired out a limousine to take him...
Widower Jack decided he wanted to get the tattoo in aid of a charity and has so far raised a massive £2,146 for Ashgate Hospice, who care for terminally ill adults. (DONATE HERE)

Speaking to us straight after getting the tattoo, Jack said: "It's all for a good cause. I'll do it again at 105."
Jack, who says his secret to long life is whiskey, broke the previous Guinness World Record for the oldest person to get a tattoo by ten years.

With eight grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren, Jack said they all think he's 'bonkers' but he's had plenty of needles in him before and wasn't fazed by getting a tattoo.
His daughter Jayne said: "I'm really proud of him. He's my superhero. He doesn't even like tattoos but he wanted to do something special that would raise a lot of money.
"He initially joked about getting it on his bum, but then wasn't too keen on having to get out his bum to show people."

Jack Reynolds truly is the definition of a grandLAD.
