This is amazing.

A man who became homeless and contemplated suicide after losing his job managed to completely turn his life around and now he's a millionaire.

Thirty-year-old Mylo Kaye was fired from his job after he became heavily involved in drinking and partying and began missing days at work. Aged 20, Mylo found himself unemployed and, too proud to explain the situation to his family, living in a hostel.

Mylo told the Liverpool Echo: "I got promoted to a senior technical role over people ten years older than me. And with that responsibility came the money to match.

"I was still only 20 and I did all the things I probably shouldn't. I went out all the time, was drinking alcohol, doing drugs.

"At the time I thought it was amazing and I lost my sense of reality. What I saw was different from what was happening around me.

"I thought it was an exciting time, I was having fun, and I thought 'this is my money, I'm going to spend it'.

"I had a good relationship with everyone at work and in my mind, naively I thought they wouldn't mind if I didn't go in for a few days every now and then. My judgement was completely impaired."

While living in the hostel and getting by on benefits Mylo says he felt 'below zero'. However, after receiving some help from the hostel he was staying at, his confidence grew, so much so, he applied to an access course to get into university and eventually gained a place at Manchester Metropolitan University.

During his studies, Mylo was hit with another blow, when his uncle, who he had been close to from a young age, died.

He told the paper: "I was so close to him and it was completely out of the blue. It was like someone saying 'You can't do well, I'm going to put these things in your way', first losing my job and the second my uncle.

"It was a really difficult time but I used the support from university and they really helped me to get straight again."

But he didn't let this setback destroy him, and while on the course, he met the man who would later become his business partner, Jack Mason.

Mylo and Jack set up Dreamr, a tech company which makes apps. It now has 23 members of staff and is on track to turnover £1 million this year.

Mylo is now using his position to help others in a similar situation as a trustee with the Booth Centre, a homeless charity in Manchester, and by encouraging others to speak out if they ever find themselves at a low point.
