The brave Millwall fan who stood defiant during the London Bridge terror attacks has described the moment he came face to face with the attackers.

Roy Larner hit headlines following the attacks, when he fought the three machete-wielding jihadists with his fists while shouting: "Fuck you, I'm Millwall!"

Speaking on Good Morning Britain, he said: "I didn't have time to run. One was in front of me and pulled out a knife and started shouting about Allah."

He continued: "At the time I just tried to fight back. The other two were going towards the restaurant, so as I was doing well against one bloke, the other two have come back and helped him.

Roy was stabbed eight times in the Black & Blue restaurant and bar, but he continued to fight back against the men - earning him the nickname 'the Lion of London Bridge'.

Speaking while still in hospital, Roy told the Sun: "They had these long knives and started shouting about Allah. Then it was, 'Islam, Islam, Islam'.

"Like an idiot, I shouted back at them. I thought, 'I need to take the piss out of these bastards.' I took a few steps towards them and said, 'Fuck you, I'm Millwall!' So they started attacking me.

"I stood in front of them, trying to fight them off. Everyone else ran to the back. I was on my own against all three of them, that's why I got hurt so much.

"It was just me, trying to grab them with my bare hands and hold on. I was swinging. I got stabbed and sliced eight times. They got me in my head, chest and both hands. There was blood everywhere."

Roy said none of the blows were directly at him, which he believes saved his life. Today he told Good Morning Britain presenters Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid that he feels lucky to be alive.

Modest Roy added that he didn't consider himself a hero, but he had taken the opportunity to ask his club Millwall for a season ticket. Come on, fellas, sort him out.
