Two hour commute comes to an end!

That is one hell of a commute - this Californian teen's dedication to his job saw him walk almost two hours there and back again after his car broke down.

Eighteen-year-old Jourdan Duncan's job as a packer in a factory is helping fund his classes to become a California Highway Patrol Officer - as well as help support his parents. But after his car broke down and he made the commute on foot, he started attracting attention.

The Benicia Police Department started a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for him.

"They're setting an example of what a good community is," Duncan said. "I thought maybe that could be me - maybe I can have a change in our society and change in the community."

It all started last September when he was walking home from his shift when the flashing lights of a police car caught his attention; understandably he was pretty worried.

"I said, 'Uh-oh, I hope I didn't do anything,'" Duncan told InsideEdition.com.

Corporal Kirk Keffer pulled up behind him, and waved him over.

"It's dark; there's no sidewalks," Keffer said. "I asked him where he was walking to, and he says, 'Home.'

Duncan's car had broken down so he had to walk five hours to work and back.

"I had to start saving up little by little," Duncan said, who never complained about his commute. "It's a pretty peaceful walk. I just put in my headphones, play my music."

The police officer was impressed by his determination.

"People use [a long commute] as an obstacle not to work," Keffer said. "I wanted to make sure that he understood a good work ethic and dedication like that is going to be noticed and rewarded."

Keffer spoke to his police department about helping the teenager out, and they clubbed together and bought him a bike! It cut his journey down to 50 minutes each way - a heck of a lot shorter.

"He helped make my life easier," Duncan said. "They care about their community, they care about their people and they care to help us."

"Every chance we get to help somebody out we try to do it," Keffer said - who then started a GoFundMe page for the teen to help him get a car.

The GoFundMe Page says: "Jourdan is an impressive 18 year old who walks almost 5 hours a day to and from work so he can raise money to fix his car and pay for college. Jourdan also has aspirations of becoming a CHP officer one day.

"Benicia PD Corporal Kirk Keffer met Jourdan walking alone one night and learned about his story. Impressed with Jourdan's work ethic and commitment to his dreams, Cpl. Keffer reached out to the Benicia Police Officers' Association and asked if there was something they could do to help out this young man."

It's raised over $42,000 and is close to reaching its goal of $50,000. Jourdan is going to get one sweet car out of that!

Sewing Teddy Bears For Sick Kids

The Benicia Police Officers' Association aren't the only people looking out for people who need help. Twelve-year-old Campbell wanted to buy kids for presents in hospitals, but with eight brothers and sisters his mum said no - so he started to make teddy bears. He spends all his spare time sewing. The Tasmanian kid and has been making bears for three years and so far he's made about 800 bears for sick kids.

His own dad was diagnosed with cancer five years ago, and he made his dad a teddy bear. "There's a little bit of magic in them," his dad says. "But a lot of magic in Campbell. His first teddy bear took him eight hours, but now he can make a teddy bear in under an hour."

On his GoFundMe page it says: "Campbell's goal was to have a laser cutter machine to help produce insert joints that keep his bears arms and legs moving, he currently hand cuts, files and sands these completely by hand a laser cutter will make this process so much easier on him! He has reached this goal and further donations will go towards supplies and freight costs of the bears to help send more out to the world."

What a lad.
