Footage of a Polish farmer out on a combine harvester in a field squeezed between several apartment blocks has gone viral.

The unusual situation came about after the farmer refused to sell his land to developers, meaning residential buildings now stand shoulder to shoulder with agricultural land. You can watch the video below:

In the Polish city of Lublin, while most farmers agreed to sell their fields to developers, others like Michal Myslowski have refused.

This means Michal now brings in the harvest sandwiched in-between residential buildings on Jantarowa Street.

Community residents have praised the farmer's decision not to sell his land. Many took to post videos of Michal in his combine harvester as he continues to harvest his crops every year.

Imperial Seed, a forage, turf, and cover crop seed specialist company took to Twitter to praise Michal. It said: "Always stand up for what you believe in, even if it means standing alone."

As reported by Polish publication Dziennik Wschodni, local resident Katarzyna said she thought the crops were a nicer view compared to concrete buildings.

She said: "As a resident, I can say that it does not bother us at all, on the contrary. Better such a view outside the window than being surrounded by concrete buildings."

Another local added: "Some would give anything for such views."

Michal told the same publication: "People are fine. They understand that I have work to do. They watch and make videos.

"The children are also happy. There have never been any problems with it."

The praise has continued online, with Michal becoming a Reddit hit. A user commented: "Good for him! Not everyone has to sell out."

Another wrote: "Damn right. They deserve to keep their land. They have worked harder than most."

Users highlighted the ongoing nature of the issue between farmers and developers: "As someone who has seen the loss of farmland around me in favor of warehouses and business parks I feel this man's pain and admire his 'f*** you' attitude."

A second user added: "I've literally heard people swear that we don't need cows because milk comes from the milk factory near their home, that we don't need farmers because we import everything. Meanwhile the media and the government are destroying the farmers."

Another user said: "I think it'll be a good education to the city folks, remind them where their food comes from."
