A lad has managed to lose over half his body weight in 18 months after becoming so depressed he attempted to take his own life.

Noah Kingery, 29, gained 15 stone in just one year having lost a loved one and spiralled into depression.

He said: "I was in such a deep, dark place that I could not see life worth living.

"The loss of love led to depression and I walked away from my passions, just giving up on life."

"I went to the cabinet; I grabbed a handful of painkillers. I took the last handle of vodka that I had and I downed it.

"I went one foot off the balcony and as I was doing this my phone rang."

He says the rest of that night is a blur but when he woke the next day he was hit with the fact that he still had so much to live for.

Since that night, Noah has completely turned his life around. He's given up alcohol, cut out fatty foods and has been hammering the gym.

He's gone from 25st to 11.5st and has an impressive set of abs.

"People don't believe it's real but I get a lot of respect and inspiration from people who look up to me," he said.

"It gives me a sense of purpose to inspire those who currently walk in the shoes that I once did."

Noah has been left with a reminder of his past life in the form of loose skin, which hangs from his stomach, but he doesn't let that hold him back and he's now set up his own nutritional company, which he hopes will help others change their lives.

"Facing all adversity with addiction to poor lifestyle habits was the hardest thing to break," said Noah.

"My self-worth is no longer attached to my weight. Seeing through sober eyes and facing hard things that come up in life head-on is key.

"Now I believe that nothing is impossible."
