Teenage Heroes Tackle Raging Fire To Help Two Mothers And Their Infant Children Escape Safely

True lads.

It's not every day you come across a raging fire threatening two mums and their babies, but it's moments like that when you discover what you're made of.

Teenage heroes Dave Clark, Dylan Hemsley, Kyle Macrae, Logan Hancock, Joe Lafferty, Peter Wilson, Stewart Watson and Josh Rose are made of the right stuff.

They didn't hesitate for a second to rush towards the inferno and do what they could to stop the fire spreading, potentially saving the lives of two mothers and their infant children.

Dave was walking home from a friend's house in Kirkcaldy, Scotland, when they saw the fire and decided to rush over with an axe to rip down the fence before the fire spread any further.

They then hooked up a garden hose and tried to douse the flames with buckets of water before helping the frightened women and their children escape safely.

Dave told the Daily Record: "There was a strong smell of burning so I back tracked a bit to see if I could find the source for a little peace of mind.

"I made my way to the back garden to see what could be done to prevent the fire spreading to the houses.

"The shed no longer resembled a shed and the fire had spread so quickly that there was only about six foot of fence before it hit the house.

One teen grabbed a saw while Dave himself picked an axe to bring the fence down as quickly as possible.

"I made my way into the kitchen and grabbed a bowl of water that was in the sink. On my return to the kitchen the woman of the house holding her young daughter in one hand handed a bucket of water to me with the other," he continued.

"I don't know what caused the fire, but what I do know is that a group of local teenagers came together and worked as a team to help complete strangers when they were in need."

One of the lads, Joe, burned his hand while ripping down the fence but wasn't fazed and was simply happy to see the children in the building emerge safely.

Heroes one and all, these lads deserve every bit of praise they get.
