A British billionaire who made his fortune investing in the medical marijuana industry has spoken about his cannabis-backed cryptocurrency.
Maximillian White has recently partnered with MediConnectUK - a company working in the pharmaceutical industry using blockchain technology.
MediConnectUK, founded by former QPR player Dexter Blackstock, can be used by patients, prescribers, pharmacies and drug manufacturers.

The company aims to become the leading blockchain solution approved by medical regulators for the prevention of obtaining multiple prescriptions from online and offline pharmacies.
Along with using the cryptocurrency to purchase and sell medical supplies, customers will be able to use the platform to ensure that things such as counterfeit or recalled drugs are prevented from being distributed.
When it comes to investing in the future of the company, Maximillian is confident that the possibilities are endless.
Speaking to LADbible, Maximillian said: "What [investors] do is they buy the coin and as it gets utilised by the pharmaceutical industry, or, maybe one day, it might be even be by law that you have to buy it through this. For the people that bought that coin, the demand goes up that that coin goes up.

"As of 2022, my company is the largest producer of medical marijuana in the world. If I was to force all of my customers, from your pharmaceutical people down to your Joe Bloggs, to use my cryptocurrency, for example. This coin will go through the roof. And eventually, the coin would be a marijuana-backed coin.
"At the minute the service that it does is very medical. Obviously, the reason that I bought into the company is because yes, I want to push more to the medical marijuana."
He added: "From seeing where bitcoin started and went to with no functional utility behind it just shows what MEDI coin can get to. MEDI coin has a huge utility for the pharmaceutical industry and their billions of consumers and health will always be important in everyone's lives."
He went on: "As you can understand with the marijuana being legalised everywhere, we're going to implement some form of online cryptocurrency that's going to infiltrate all of this. That's where that's where the money is at."

Irrespective of being able to make money using the cryptocurrency, if you were to purchase medicine using it, Max believes it will be a lot safer because you can track where it's come from.
He said: "Does it coincide with the regulations? Is it putting you at risk? Where's it coming from? Who transported it? Is it ethically correct?
"So this here has a utility behind it. However, anyone that would tell you what they think one of these coins could go to would be dishonest.
"But what I can say is looking at what other coins went to - just have a look how much Bitcoin was when it started and have a look at how much Bitcoin is worth today. That's what I'm willing to say. It's a penny stock now. It could be worth hundreds of pounds of stock."

This is something that founder Dexter Blackstock believes will revolutionise the way we access medication in the future.
Also speaking to LADbible, Dexter said: "What we've created is a track and trace system to track and trace platform where we can track all medical products."
