Mum Creates Nine-Foot-Long Bed For The Whole Family For Less Than £450

Mum Creates Nine-Foot-Long Bed For The Whole Family For Less Than £450

It 'sleeps like a dream', apparently

A mum has created an ingenious solution to the problem of her kids taking up all the space in her bed. She fashioned her own nine-foot bed so that she and her husband, as well as the kids, can all fit in without it being too cramped.

What's more, she managed to get it all done for less than £450. That's not bad going considering how expensive it would usually be to have a custom bed of that size made up for you.

It must be a pain in the backside every time the sheets want changing, though.

As most people with young kids will tell you, they like to jump into the bed with their parents at nearly every opportunity.

If you're finding this to be true, there's a decent chance that you could benefit from taking a leaf out of Natalie Pavitt's book.

The mum-of-two was getting slightly annoyed at having to share her every bit of space with her two daughters, so - instead of just grinning and bearing it - she got inventive and decided to devise a bed large enough for the whole family.

What she created is this nine-foot-wide bed. Hell, you could all sleep in that and never even know each other was there.

Explaining her idea to the Facebook group 'Mrs Hinch Made Me Do It', she wrote: "Bed goals. No more fighting for space in our household.

"Basically we got two double divan beds with no slip mattresses and they butt up together completely flush! (Meaning no gap for anyone to fall down, you can lay on the join and not know any difference).

"We've used two king duvets and eight pillows plus two double sheets."

She added: "Total width of the bed is 9ft. Cost us £440 including delivery rather than the £2,000 plus we got quoted for custom made! Ours even has drawers."

After that original post went viral, she told The Mirror a bit more about how she managed to get such a decent deal on the unique bed.

Natalie continued: "We bought the beds from Bed Centre via Amazon.

"They included the two divan bases with mattresses and headboards at £216 per bed with free delivery."

Apparently, it 'sleeps like a dream'.

People online are covetous of her creation, too.

One Facebook comment reads: "I am extremely jealous of this. If my bedroom was big enough I'd do this in a heartbeat."

Another simply wrote: "I need this in my life,"

If you've got the room, why not?
