Sixteen Nurses From The Same Hospital Are All Pregnant At Once

Sixteen Nurses From The Same Hospital Are All Pregnant At Once

This is a bizarre coincidence. I feel for whoever has to make up the Christmas rota.

Sixteen nurses who work at the same hospital are all pregnant at the same time.

Wow, there really must be something in the water down in Arizona, because a huge number of the nursing staff at the Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa, outside of Phoenix, Arizona, have all realised that they are expecting children at the same time.

Of course, it's all a massive coincidence, but bloody hell it's strange. All sixteen of them are due to have their babies between the months of October and February.

You've got to feel for the other nursing staff who will presumably be run off their feet whilst they all take their 12 weeks of maternity leave, but it's still undoubtedly good news.

One of the nurses, Rochelle Sherman, said that they actually didn't realise they were all expecting until they got together on social media and it became clear.

She said: "I don't think we realized just how many of us were pregnant until we started a Facebook group."

Another said: "We all formulated this plan to have the holidays off!"

I mean, it's going to work, even if that wasn't their plan...

It hasn't gone unnoticed around the hospital, either. Some of the patients are noticing that so many of the nurses providing their care are carrying children.

Jolene Garrow, another nurse who is a mum-to-be, said that one patient even insists on touching her belly each night, which is odd and a little bit creepy, but whatever.

Obviously, being pregnant, there are certain things around the hospital that they just can't do. Diseases like tuberculosis and shingles can be fatal to babies if their mothers catch them whilst they are pregnant.

They also aren't allowed anywhere near the chemotherapy equipment - for obvious reasons.

All of the nurses say that their non-pregnant colleagues - some of whom you'd have to imagine are men - are being very good about the whole thing.

The hospital's officials have also noted that they'll need to have a think about the number of staff that will need to be drafted in when they inevitably have to take the time off to be with their kids.

In fact, their colleagues are even throwing them a huge group baby shower next week. The hospital has also gifted them some baby-grows that say "Relax! My mom is a Banner nurse!" on them.

Well, good luck to them all, and to whoever has to come up with the rota over the next few months...
