A woman has earned $1 million (£732,625) on OnlyFans in just over a year after her boyfriend mentioned it might be a good way to earn some extra cash.

Mia Karina had never heard of the X-rated social media site, while she was working as a receptionist in a hotel in Malta last year, but when her boyfriend Marc told her one of his pals was making money on there, she decided to give it a go.

Within a month-and-a-half, Mia, 19, was able to quit her job as a receptionist and go full-time on OnlyFans - now, a little over a year later she's pulled in $1 million.

Speaking to LADbible, Mia, who is originally from Chile, said: "My boyfriend's friend told him about this site - I didn't know about it at all. My boyfriend told me that his friend was making around $2,000 a month just selling topless pictures.

"I started because I was getting a low wage - I thought, 'why not?'

"At the beginning I was still working at the hotel, but after a month-and-a-half I left the job because I started making more money on Only Fans. I thought, 'why go to work for eight hours a day when I can make more than that'."

But for anyone thinking it is easy money - Mia is quick to point out they're very wrong.

"It's a really hard job," she explained. "Most people say 'oh, you're making easy money', but it is not like that.

"In the beginning I was working about eight or nine hours a day but now it's pretty much 24/7. I haven't had a day off for seven months. I am always on my phone.

"How you manage your page is important. My way is to speak to every single one of my fans and give them a personal treatment and make them feel comfortable.

"Some of them text me every morning, then through the day and into the night - every day. I wake up and I'm answering messages and then making content; I have to post two to four times per day."

And, with more people spending time at home due to the coronavirus, Mia has seen a boost to her subscribers.

She said: "Since lockdown happened, I got a lot more followers - I lowered my prices a bit because I know people are not working and don't have much money and I'm getting more fans because they are at home and they are bored."

Mia's boyfriend is supportive of her OnlyFans career and even helps out with promotions.

She said: "He helps me. He is happy with it. As long as I'm happy, he's alright with it. He has no problems."

Now she's earned her first million dollars, Mia plans to invest in property and has already set up a company with her boyfriend.

And Mia puts her skills on the site to good use and now helps other women who want to make it on OnlyFans by offering advice on how to boost their follower and subscriber count.
