Seven months after his tragic death, hundreds of friends, fans and family gathered to honour Avicii's life and legacy at a touching memorial service in Stockholm.
To give a select few the chance to say goodbye and to commemorate his life, Avicii's family invited hundreds of the biggest fans to the memorial service held at the Hedvig Eleonora Church, in the capital city of his native Sweden.
Crowds of people showed up to mourn Avicii's short life and gathered in and around the venue as the emotional service was performed in his memory.

The fact that so many turned up to pay tribute to the music artist is testament to how loved he was on this Earth - and it looks like their enthusiasm at saying goodbye to the electro-house DJ has brought comfort to those closest to him.
His dad, Klas Bergling, led the service at the baroque Hedvig Eleonora church with what was described as a 'beautiful' speech, while members of the choir sang renditions of his greatest hits, including 'Wake Me Up'.
Speaking to E! Online, a source who attended the memorial said: "The entire service was very moving," describing it as a "great tribute to Avicii."
The 28-year-old Swedish DJ - real name Tim Bergling - was found dead in Oman on April 20 of this year. Although the cause of death was never confirmed, his family suggested he committed suicide.

A statement released by his family in April read: "Our beloved Tim was a seeker, a fragile artistic soul searching for answers to existential questions. An overachieving perfectionist who travelled and worked hard at a pace that led to extreme stress.
"When he stopped touring, he wanted to find a balance in life to be happy and be able to do what he loved most - music.
"He really struggled with thoughts about Meaning, Life, Happiness. He could not go on any longer."
It continued: "He wanted to find peace. Tim was not made for the business machine he found himself in; he was a sensitive guy who loved his fans but shunned the spotlight.

"Tim, you will forever be loved and sadly missed. The person you were and your music will keep your memory alive.
"We love you, Your family."
Avicii was open about the fact that he struggled with mental health and addiction issues, and at age 21 he was diagnosed with acute pancreatitis - thanks in part to excessive alcohol consumption. He was also hospitalised in 2014, and had to have his gallbladder and appendix removed.

Despite his problems, Avicii's skills on the decks led him to worldwide acclaim, having shot to fame with 'Levels' in 2011, and his 2013 track 'Wake Me Up' garnering more than 1.7 billion views on YouTube (and counting).
He delighted the world with his music, but sadly could not overcome his own personal struggles. Thoughts go out to his family and friends and hats off to the relatives who allowed the fans to say goodbye in this touching manner.
This is one star who has gone, but will never be forgotten.
