An Entire British Village Is Up For Sale

An Entire British Village Is Up For Sale

Any takers?

There's quite a lot of things in life that I'd throw my money at.

"Want to buy a see-through toaster?", Yes. "Want to buy a bathroom basketball hoop so you can shoot hoops on the throne?" Hell yes. "Want to buy an entire village?" Yes fucking please.

The last offering could be a reality if my pockets were a little deeper, as the North Yorkshire village of West Heslerton is currently up for sale. Yes, the whole village.

West Heslerton was left to the family of Eve Dawnay after she passed away a five years ago. It includes over 2,000 acres of countryside, a 21-bedroom historic hall, a restaurant, 42 houses, a sports pavilion, playing fields and most importantly, a pub.

This can be all of yours for the fee of £20 million, or a bid somewhere in that region.

To be honest, all I can think about is buying the village, clearing it all out and handing eight of my mates paint ball guns and having the most badass team deathmatch there's ever been.

However, the Dawnay family are looking for the kindest bidder, rather than the highest bidder, and hope that they'll preserve West Heslerton's way of life.

"[Eve Dawnay] helped keep a village community with a mixed group of ages and there are obviously a lot of people hoping that somebody with a similar benevolent nature will come along to take over the estate. It would be perfect for somebody wanting to build up and leave a legacy," Tom Watson, a director of Cundalls estate agency, told the Mirror.

The village has been fairly untouched for 50 years and is ready for a developer to reshape it.

Any takers?
