England Players React To World Cup Defeat But It's Just The Beginning

England have suffered more World Cup heartache but the entire country are immensely proud of them all

Last night was a weird one, wasn't it? There, on that pitch inside the Luzhniki Stadium, was a bunch of young LADs doing their absolute all for their country.

Who would have thought that we'd be saying 'Where you going to watch the semis?' or, 'Do you fancy a pint for the semi-final?' a few weeks ago? Not many people, that's who.

We were convinced that it was going to be the likes of Germany, Brazil, Spain and Portugal in those final few games. And how wrong were we?

Everyone got behind the Three Lions, people had their bodies inked, Ross Kemp went bonkers and no one can forget the brave England fan who ran into the boozer full of Colombian fans.

We've had a good laugh along the way, haven't we?

But the question is, can we still have a bank holiday after the final though? Because we're still going to be having a beer regardless. And don't try to deny it.

Which is why the last thing we want is for those that worked the hardest to be down in the dumps about the whole thing.

Yes, you'd be right if you're thinking, 'What does that daft cow know, just let us be miserable' Because I know nothing but I've seen an entire nation come together in support, and that's something to be proud of - right?

They gave us hope and made us believe. That's really what it's all about. And we got some mighty fine hangovers along the way as well - but McDonald's are sorting all that out for us this morning.

Let's take some time to thank this glorious bunch of LADs for the efforts they have put in the last few weeks. And the main man himself - Gareth Southgate. His waistcoats will go down as a treasured memory - but this won't be the last we see of them.
