Galway man Richard Barton has taken the phrase 'pimp my ride' to a whole new level by transforming an old double decker bus into this gorgeous and truly unique Airbnb, located just a stone's throw from Lough Corrib.

It's a masterful feat of renovation as this bus, which was once a school bus on the busy streets of London, has been entirely rehauled inside to comfortably sleep up to six people in three double beds.

The Wild Atlantic Bus sports a fully fitted kitchen with a gorgeous Belfast sink and all the amenities you'll need to cook up a storm for you and your guests.

The space has a cosy, hygge-inspired design, complete with a wood burning stove to warm up next to and a spacious, plush couch area to wind down after dinner. Upstairs you'll find a little mezzanine floor overlooking the kitchen which brings you to a private seating area featuring one of the original, fully refurbished bus seats.

The outdoor area is complete with a patio and, of course, the key to any summer staycation evening - a fire pit, sure induce wistful conversations about the lives and emotions of anyone who dares sit around it after dusk.

There's also a luxurious outdoor shower with breath-taking views of your countryside surroundings so that you can begin your day feeling fresh and tranquil. Fair warning though, you may be met by a few Peeping Tom neighbours as a herd of cattle resides in the field next door, essential to ensuring you'll have the authentic, rural Irish experience when you stay here.

The bus is situated in Oughterard, known to many as 'the gateway to Connemara' which forms a major part of the highly-Instagrammed Wild Atlantic Way meaning there's an abundance of beautiful, scenic walks for you and your party to enjoy if you feel inspired to peep outside of the bus.
