Live Out Your Woodland Fantasy By Staying In These Breathtaking Bubble Domes In Fermanagh

These bubble domes at the Finn Lough resort in Co. Fermanagh offer a hotel experience you won't find anywhere else in Ireland.

We've heard a lot about 'bubbles' over the last year. Social bubbles, COVID bubbles, support bubbles. Bubbles you want to be in and bubbles this pandemic has well and truly burst.

Before you reach for something with which to gouge your eyes out at the mention of yet another bubble - bear with us for just a moment as we tell you about a different kind of bubble we think you'll be more amenable to reading about. The bubble in question? The spectacular bubble dome accommodation at Finn Lough Resort.

Nestled in the tranquil forests of Co. Fermanagh, just a stone's throw away from the salubrious waters of Lough Erne, lie seven bespoke bubble domes which offer guests a truly unique experience of sleeping beneath the stars, immersed in nature but with all the trimmings of a luxurious hotel stay.

Each dome is stylishly decorated with a handcrafted, statement four-poster king size bed from which you can gaze at nature's exquisite beauty from practically any angle. Expect to find all the typical delights of any hotel stay such as a Nespresso coffee machine, a complimentary mini bar, a vinyl record player and, of course, the quintessential fluffy bathrobes.

If you opt to trade up to the Premium Bubble Dome, you'll also get to enjoy an incredibly inviting rolltop bathtub which overlooks the forest landscape.

As you can imagine, these domes and their surroundings offer quite the feast for the eyes and, although a stay here is touted to be somewhat of a digital detox (there's no TV and no WiFi in the domes), inevitably it's going to be hard to resist the urge to capture a few photographs for a post-trip Instagram.

Well, they've even thought of that as they thoughtfully provide guests with Instax Polaroid cameras and a packet of film to snap away to their heart's content whilst exploring the resort. The resort itself boasts everything you need to entertain yourself and unwind on your stay, so that you need not even consider the outside world until it's time to check out. Yoga sessions, guided fishing boat trips and carefree cycles through the woodlands are all on the cards here, with zero preparation required as equipment and bikes are provided as part of your stay at Finn Lough.

And for those who are simply after unadulterated rest and relaxation, look no further than the Elements Spa. This unique spa experience takes the form of a two hour, self-guided trail through five different rooms including a lakeside hot tub, a Finnish sauna and a float room which promises to leave you in 'a state of total relaxation' - works for us?

There's no denying that this is a unique hotel experience, the only of its kind in Ireland in fact, and because of that demand is incredibly high so we recommend you book well in advance to secure your preferred dates in the bubble domes.

You can expect to pay a pretty price (one night in the standard bubble dome comes in at €380.00) but we suspect once you open your eyes to witness the enchanting surroundings and realise you're living out your woodland elf dreams, you'll be resigned to one simple fact... it was worth it.
