Following his annual Christmas party last night, Piers Morgan has shared a receipt for more than £4,000 ($5,000) worth of champagne after being playfully called out by celebrity chum, cricketer Kevin Pietersen.
The Good Morning Britain presenter held his festive get together last night in Kensington's The Scarsdale Tavern.
Obviously, he invited all of his glamourous show-business chums, including former England star Pietersen.
However, the South African-born batsman decided to call out his mate Piers for serving prosecco at the party instead of champers.
The very thought, eh?
Well, Piers was having none of it. He responded by sharing the receipt for a staggering £4,200 worth of Bollinger.
Pietersen wrote: "Piers Morgan serves prosecco at his Christmas drinks. What a fraud."
He continued: "Sooooo disappointed in @piersmorgan. Serving Prosecco when he invited us saying he's a champagne boy! You Are A Fraud!"
Piers hit back: "I only serve Bollinger... You just can't taste the difference."
Wow, no wonder everyone considers Piers Morgan to be the voice of the ordinary British public, right?
Not one to let someone else have the last word, Piers then doubled down by sharing the proof of his purchase on Twitter this morning.
He produced a receipt from the pub for £4,200, which works out as 60 bottles of Bollinger at £70 a pop.
That'll show him.
Obviously ITV are paying him a decent wage, then.
Anyway, the whole party was packed full of celebs, including several other faces of the daytime TV world.
Holly Willoughby shared a photograph of herself eating a cheese sandwich beforehand, writing: "Tactical cheese sandwich before tonight's Christmas festivities."
She was then pictured at the Kensington venue later on with Christine Lampard, herself a daytime TV staple, and her other half, Chelsea manager Frank.
One member of the GMB crew who didn't party the night away was I'm a Celeb star Kate Garraway.
She was late for work on her first day back from the jungle, and decided she wasn't hanging about at Piers' bash, writing: "Hmmm @piersmorgan's Xmas drinks - a dangerous event to go to for a woman who overslept this morning and missed her first @gmb show back after jungle... but am leaving @errongordon @lauratobin100 @tvsrichardarnold & @ranvirtv to drink my share... am off to bed... I promise."
As for Piers himself, let's hope that he made it back at a reasonable hour so that he can continue with his ITV role today.
That Bollinger isn't going to pay for itself.
