What's one of the worst possible things you could do to your Christmas dinner? This baked bean fanatic looks to have the answer: covering it in Heinz beans. Watch him tuck in below:

Now most of us love baked beans and most of us love a Christmas dinner, but Captain Beany - formerly known as Barry Kirk - loves the former more than most.

The 67-year-old became infatuated with Heinz baked beans after he infamously created a Guinness World Record in 1986 by spending 100 hours in a bath filled with the traditional British dish.

This love of beans culminated in him changing his name by deed poll to Captain Beany in May 1991 - and so with Christmas approaching, one can only imagine what he gets up to for it.

Well wonder no more, as the man from Port Talbot, Wales, has explained the lengths he goes to over the festive season to pay tribute to his favourite item of food.

The Captain has decorated his Christmas tree with homemade Heinz baked beans baubles and cans.

More notably, he's also planning on tucking into a Christmas dinner covered in baked beans after admitting to spending it alone, having been single for decades.

He explained: "I've been single all my life so I'm spending Christmas on my own this year in my flat.

"Heinz brought out baubles in recent years and I've been hanging empty Heinz baked beans cans on the Christmas tree.

"I've even made my own Christmas crackers with Heinz packaging wrapped around them!"

This all sounds fun and good until you get to the Christmas dinner part where Captain Beany says he'll be swapping out the traditional gravy for his beloved baked beans.

He said: "I'll be eating it off one of my Heinz baked beans branded plates and toasting with a 'beana colada!'"

Sounds more sickening than eating a whole tub of Quality Streets on Boxing Day.

Back before he was Captain Beany, Barry was known for doing stunt challenges and it was this that led to him deciding to try and create a world record - one that would subsequently change the course of his life forever.

He still holds the Guinness World Record for sitting in a bath of baked beans for 100 hours and since then has spent £10,000 on turning his home into a baked beans lovers dream.

He added: "People thought I was crazy in the beginning but now, I'm known as a local legend.

"I do guest appearances, perform video messages for people wishing them a happy birthday, and my home is like a museum for baked beans!

"It's great fun for kids having selfies with the Captain."

Captain Beany has also raised over £100,000 for charity since taking on his role as a baked bean fanatic which we can only applaud.

We wouldn't recommend standing too close to him after he's had his Christmas dinner though.
