Guy On ‘First Dates’ Makes Things Awkward By Talking About Nipple Tassels

Why would you ever bring that up on a first date?

There's probably a list somewhere on the internet which outlines some of the topics that people shouldn't bring up during a first date. The first few that automatically spring to mind might be religion, politics, ex-girlfriends or boyfriends and your high-school exam marks (especially if you're older than 20).

Sure, you can totally bring those up, but it can lead to a bit of a heated discussion on a night that you're still trying to get to know one another.

Another area that you might want to avoid is your recent venture in nipple tassels. But if you're wondering why that could be an awkward conversation topic, then look no further than this couple who appeared on First Dates.

You have to hand it to the bloke, he sounds nervous. When asked whether they'd like to start off with prosecco or wine, he opts for the sparkling because 'all girls like prosecco'.

His date, Liberty, kindly tells him she doesn't like that type of alcohol and that 'not all girls are the same'.

Not the best start, but everyone can recover from a minor stumble at the start.

When surveying the menu, the guy expresses that he'd like to rub the big, dirty burger 'all over my naked body', which provokes the sort of reaction that you might expect.

Liberty gets a bit concerned that he might be one of those 'posh bankers', but he assures her he's a nice guy. But then he gets weird, telling her: "I tell you what I have started up recently, it's a company selling nipple tassels, right."

He tries to elaborate by saying: "Because you're a girl, you're a girl, right, so you know..."

She cuts him off, but he later tries again to explain the venture by telling her: "The thing is, it was more like I saw an opportunity and I wanted to take advantage of it."

Liberty replies: "Well, women love it when you take advantage."

Her date pauses for a concerningly long time, pondering whether or not she was being sarcastic or not. Viewers have described the cringe-worthy start to the date, with one person saying: "My god, is he trolling? No one can be this bad at dating."

He reigns it in from there and tries hard to just relax and go with the flow, which ends up getting him a second date. Let's hope that he keeps his cool on the next encounter.
