For many of us, the idea of home ownership in this rocky financial climate is a bit of a myth. Even as fully grown adults, it's borderline impossible to scrape enough money together for a deposit and it can get a bit frustrating to imagine yourself renting for the rest of your life.

Well, as if you didn't already feel shitty enough about your future property prospects, here's a nine-year-old kid who's already taken his first step up the ladder.

Jack Joe is part of a Traveller community in Essex and is one of the stars of Channel 5's show Gypsy Kids.

The youngster now has his own caravan with a kitchen and en-suite bathroom, after moving out of the family home.

Jack Joe has also purchased a motorbike, despite being eight years too young to drive it, and says that all he needs is a wife.

He said: "I got my own trailer, now all I need is a wife."

"As you get older you just want to have a place of your own, where you can stay," he added.

"Most children's parents wouldn't let them move somewhere themselves so I feel like I can be trusted."

He also told the cameras: "My mum and dad think I am a fully-grown man now, and I am coming to 10 this year."

To celebrate his transition from boy to man, Jack Joe's parents also gave him a fat wad of cash to buy himself a motorbike, on the condition that he cut the deal himself.

He explained: "It is important for Traveller boys to learn how to do deals because when they get older they have to do it, lots of them learn from their dads like I have."

Jack Joe opted for a three-wheeled motorbike and even managed to get the seller to knock £300 ($398) off the original price.

The seller was unsure at first, asking if the young lad needed to ask his dad about the sale before spending £1,500 ($1,999).

But Jack Joe reassured him: "No I don't need to, I've got my own money."
