Flatmate Sends Hilarious Passive Aggressive Survey

Flatmate Sends Hilarious Passive Aggressive Survey

We've all been there...

Anyone who's ever lived in a house share, or with a boyfriend or girlfriend, knows that there will always be occasions when tensions rise over housework.

Whether it's someone leaving their hanging, crusty dishes next to the sink for days on end or disgusting pieces of underwear being found in all manner of places.

If you've ever lived with girls you'll be familiar with the race against time when you're having a shower because the plug's been blocked up with a nice big lump of hair and goo.

But for one girl the particular bone of contention involved the bins. Potentially the worst job of any shared house (the plug hair is a definite second) - taking the bins out is one of those tasks that nobody wants to do.

There's the smell, there's the weight, there's the ultimate risk of bin juice. Which is why it seems fair that this flatmate decided to speak up after her fourth time of taking on the task, even if it was in a completely passive aggressive, and maybe a bit weird, manner.

Writing on Twitter, India Ellis shared screenshots from her flatmate, Ruth, inviting us to have a glimpse into shared house life, saying: "If anyone wanted an insight into living with students, my housemate has just sent this survey to the house chat for us to fill in."

The post includes a Whatsapp conversation and a Survey Monkey link.

Yep, you read that right, her flatmate was that pissed off that she went to the effort of creating an actual survey in order to gauge the guilt of her flatmates. Ten out of ten for creativity.

To introduce the survey to her poor flatmates, Ruth wrote: "Guys can you please please please please pretty PLEEEEASE do this survey for me real quick. It'll take like 30 seconds and it's on a subject that's really close and dear to my heart. Thankeeee."

Polite enough. And then come the questions. I think if you still hadn't cottoned on to Ruth's sarcasm, now it's startlingly clear - this is one unhappy lady.

Leading with a question to essentially trap the pollster, Ruth asks them if they know what a bin is, and also if they know that they require emptying when full. India had no choice but to accept wrongdoing.

Next, Ruth effectively gives the reader of the survey no chance but to say they should in fact be taking out the rubbish. Nice move.

At least Ruth ended the survey on vaguely pleasant, and mildly witty, note. I personally think she should be exempt from bin duty for the rest of the year.

Speaking to LADbible, Ruth says it was all a bit of a laugh and there are no hard feelings between the friends.

She said: "It was all in good fun and my flatmates all knew that! We all have quite a dry sense of humour. They thought it was funny - we've all had our moans about various messes in the house (some more than others)!"

Adding: "But it seems to have worked - I see no overflowing bins as of the present moment!
