Marmite is certainly one of those foods that divides people. Some could have it spread across virtually every and any meal and there are others who would prefer it would cease production this second.

Regardless of your thoughts on the product, the company has unveiled something that would be tasty for anyone, check it out:

No, it's not a milder form of the black spread. It's a golden jar of the stuff.

The 'one-of-a-kind' jar has reportedly been valued at £1,500 ($2,086) - which is pretty bloody decent for a small jar like that. The actual jar isn't technically made from just gold, the lid is sterling silver while the jar is copper and then they're both coated with 18 carat gold.

But who cares it looks nice and shiny and is worth a pretty penny.

However, it's not as if you can find the jar while shopping through your local Tesco or Sainsbury's. You have to find them using Snatch, an augmented reality app with an attached map. According to Snatch: "In order to get your mitts on this one-of-a-kind 18ct gold-plated jar, all you need to do is keep your eyes peeled for the Marmite jars on your map. You'll find these all over the country.

"Find one, tap one, and make your choice; are you born a lover or a hater? You will then be entered into the prize draw to Snatch the world's most expensive jar of Marmite." You can head to the App Store or Google Play to download Snatch and join in.

People on social media have already started the treasure hunt to ensure they're the lucky bastards that get the expensive jar.

If you're unsuccessful with the golden jar then fear not, you might be able to get one of 1000 personalised Marmite jars instead.

I think we'd all prefer the gold one though.

While some people might think Marmite should be used on nothing but the bin, one of the most popular chefs in the UK included it as an ingredient for a dish.

Nigella Lawson published her Spaghetti with Marmite recipe in 2009 and fans on her Instagram page seemed to bloody love it.

One person wrote: "Was sceptical about this recipe but one day in the early stages of pregnancy when I was too tired to cook a normal meal, I tried marmite spaghetti and oh my goodness, what a treat!"

Another added: "I've made this and it's so tasty."

So while you might not like Marmite on your crumpet or toast in the morning, there are plenty of other uses for it.
