Burger King’s New 'Bacon King' Burger Contains Eight Slices Of Bacon

Holy Mother of God, there is a lot of bacon on this sandwich

It seems as if huge burgers are the done thing nowadays - which is something that I'm sure plenty of people will agree, is great.

McDonald's recently came out with the Grand Mac, a massive version of the (already) Big Mac to celebrate the 50th anniversary of McDonald's flagship burger's release.

Now its rivals Burger King have come up with their own supersized sandwich and, well, it has its own unique selling point.

It's called the Bacon King, and that's not just a clever title. It has two quarter pounder burger patties and is topped off with eight slices of bacon. Yes, you heard me - eight slices of bacon. A whole packet of bacon on a burger.

I mean, look at it. It looks fantastic. We could sit here and debate the pros and cons of eating a whole packet of bacon, but that seems unnecessary. It looks great, and I challenge you not to want one (unless you're a vegetarian, in which case you're entitled to be less interested).

On top of the burgers and bacon, it comes with cheese, ketchup, and mayo. If beef burgers aren't your bag, there is another version - the Chicken Bacon King.

It's only going to be available for a limited time though, so you'd better get stuck in whilst you can.

As you might imagine, there is another factor in this. You should probably not get involved with this burger if you're on a diet. The nutritional information won't make particularly happy reading if you're counting the calories.

Speaking of calories, the Bacon King has 1,150 of them in it. That's more than half your recommended daily allowance if you're a woman. Also, that's just the burger by itself. With chips and a soft drink you can add on significantly more.

Unsurprisingly, it also contains a lot of fat - 79 grams to be precise. Oh, and just the 31 grams of saturated fats.

Still, as long as you're not eating them every day and maybe do a bit of exercise there's no reason you couldn't get one.

Alasdair Murdoch, the CEO of Burger King UK said: "We're firmly committed to delivering innovative, great-tasting food at affordable prices for all our customers.

"We hear how much our guests in the UK love bacon, and we hope that by introducing the Bacon King sandwich we help to satisfy that craving."

Yep, pretty sure it will do that.
