Long gone are the days of getting a simple chocolate cake for a birthday or special celebration. Now you apparently should get something more personal, unique or funny.
Sometimes people like to get a cake that looks like their favourite movie scene, most beloved beer or even something a bit naughty. Most times, people would take a picture in to show exactly how they want it done and customers usually come away with something that is quite the talking point at the party.
Sharon Bijin wanted to get her boyfriend a cake of a flexing bicep, considering he's a bodybuilder. The Newcastle resident found a cake maker on Facebook and explained exactly what she wanted and sent a picture to help the food artist. The woman told Ms Bijin that she could make it even better than the image.
But when she picked it up, it looked nothing like a hench AF arm.

Some people on social media have said that it looks like a flaccid penis, while I reckon it resembles the creepy thing that burst out of a man's chest in the film Alien.
The 44-year-old has told the Mirror: "When I went to collect it she said not to open it as it was raining but when I got home and saw it I was pretty shocked, everyone thinks it looks like a cashew nut or an alien.

"I went to contact her, but she'd blocked me on Facebook and then she entirely removed her account when I tried to get friends to find her.
"It cost £50 but I've written that money off. Initially I was angry as it's a lot of money and I only work part-time but now I can't stop laughing."
At least she can see the funny side of the situation.
Sharon's cake maker should take a leaf out of Natalie Burnett's book after her swingers design went absolutely viral. The mum of three was given instructions of 'clean but cheeky' by an anonymous client.

The 27-year-old decided not to ask too many questions about the reason behind the kinky cake, according to the Mirror, and instead just winged it as much as possible. Whichever way you spin it, though, you'd have to say this is pretty impressive.
