Now You Can Make Nando’s At Home Thanks To The 'Bake In The Bag' Range

Nando's is launching 'bake in the bag' and it looks amazing.

Nando's is launching a new range of 'Bake & Bag' sauces to cater for foodies who want that trademark Peri-Peri hit at home, becoming the first EVER packet mixes from the famed chicken chain.

Launching in April, the sauces will be sold exclusively at Asda, and aim to allow people to enjoy Nando's peri-peri chicken at family dinner tables but without having to get a takeaway.

Sam Frost from Nando's, told The Grocer: "Younger consumers are short on time and choose the oven as a convenient cooking tool, hence why Bag & Bake came around.

"The new product provides simplicity for cooks by helping them to create easier, tastier restaurant-inspired meals."

The sauces will come in three flavours: Lemon & Herb, Medium and Hot.

Mind you, even though customers can soon achieve the Nando's flavour at home, something tells us people won't stop visiting the South African chicken restaurant, which has become a staple of British high streets since it arrived in the UK in 1992 and pretty much everyone you know has been.

And that's especially because Nando's has recently expanded its menu with some pretty tempting new additions - including, above all else, halloumi fries.

Served with a side of chilli jam, the halloumi sticks are the latest addition to the restaurant's collection of 'Fire-starters', which also include chicken wings, houmous, red pepper dip, spicy mixed olives and Peri-Peri nuts.

The halloumi sticks, which cost £3.70, have become a permanent starter staple following a trial late last year - because they're halloumi fries, so of course they were always going to do well.

Nando's said: "The famous squeaky cheese has long been the perfect compliment to Nando's fiery brand of Southern African Peri-Peri chicken, and is now rewarded with its very own starter. Consisting of five chunky sticks of halloumi, grilled until golden brown and served with a pot of Nando's sticky, sweet chilli jam for dipping; addiction levels will be high..."

There's another exciting addition among the main dishes, too, with a new Veggie Cataplana for £6.45 - which looks seriously delicious.

If you've cocked your head, thinking 'a veggie cata-what?', Nando's explains it: "The dish consists of chargrilled veg, chickpeas and beans, in a fiery rich tomato and coconut sauce. Served on spicy rice and sprinkled with toasted coconut shavings; Nando's refreshing twist on the traditional dish is not one to miss this spring."

Lots to be getting on with, eh?
