​Top 10 UK Cities To Find Casual Sex Partners, According To New Study

There may be some wishful thinkers out there who still reckon that certain dating apps are a solid way to meet the love of your life - but the realists among us will be fully aware that sometimes it's just a case of two people (or more, if we're talking Thrinder) wanting a simple hook-up.

And now, to help those after the no-strings-attached stuff, the folk behind casual sex app Casualx have identified the top 10 cities in the UK to find casual sex partners.

It's often thought that millennials are behind 'hookup culture', as its now known, which has been popularised by young people who are after all of the fun but none of the emotional involvement. However, various reports - including a recent study by Harvard University - now suggest that such thinking tends to actually be greatly overestimated.

According to another study published in the journal Archives of Sexual Behavior, young adults are actually less promiscuous than their parents' generation.

"This study really contradicts the widespread notion that millennials are the 'hookup' generation, which is popularised by dating apps like 'Tinder' and others, suggesting that they are just looking for quick relationships and frequent casual sex," said Dr Ryne Sherman, Assistant Professor of Social Psychology at Florida Atlantic University and one of the study's authors.

But rather than starting up an argument about who's better at the art of the one night stand (you or your parents? That's not a competition anyone wants to think about), let's instead focus on where's good to go if you do fancy a laid-back little tryst.

The data comes from sex app Casualx, founded by Michelle Li after she noticed many of her friends after simple hookups weren't having the best of luck, and were often left feeling confused or frustrated when they were matched with people looking for serious relationships.

It'll probably come as no surprise that London's in at the number one spot when it comes to casual sex partners, given that it's the UK's capital and is so densely packed that you're bound to easily bump into someone after a casual hookup if you want to.
