Lad Loves Greggs So Much His Mates Make Him A Steak Bake Birthday Cake

They're one of Greggs' best sellers, and nobody appreciates the beauty of the steak bake better than one lad who believes he loves the pasty most than most.
When Damian Evans-Bennett's 29th birthday approached, his mates wondered how they could surprise him and also acknowledge his pure unadulterated love of Greggs.
His friend, Rosie Rees-Bann, told LADbible: "Damian has been a big fan of Greggs since I've know him (for the best part of ten years).

"We wanted to surprise him for his birthday with a cake that reflected his love of Greggs."
And that they did. In fact, they didn't just make one, but two Greggs themed cakes. One with the brand's 'always fresh, always tasty' slogan on the front, and another smaller one, purely devoted to him, with 'Damo' written across the wrapping.
"I found the perfect salted caramel flavour frosting that was the right shade of pasty brown and knew we needed to create a giant steak bake," Rosie explained.
"Three of my friends were involved in creating the cake.
"They each brought a different skill - artistic direction, creative ability and taste tester.
"It took us most of the evening to make, to get the details right like the shading and the sheen on the 'gravy filling' (we used edible glitter)."

Clearly a very talented crew.
Damian, who is originally from near Newcastle, has lived in Manchester for about ten years. He met his friends - who you could say are some of the best in the world thanks to their thoughtful cake skills - at uni and they have stayed mates ever since.
As such, understandably, he's developed a sense of where he can find the best stores, and he's ranked his favourite from both cities.
"The Greggs seconds shop on Westgate road in Newcastle is a firm fave," Damian told LADbible. "Also both the normal and the fancy Greggs on Northumberland Street.
"I've also had great experiences at the Greggs drive through in Irlam."
A strong selection there, which is probably going to cause controversy among fans of the bakery chain.
Are your mates actually your real mates if they don't honour your love of the best baked good outlet in the country and make you a themed cake? I think not.
