Mum Holds One Woman Party To Celebrate Kids Going Back To School

It's not your average 'back to school' photo

Although the summer holidays might be a great opportunity for parents to spend quality time with their kids, I can imagine they're also quite full on.

There's the pressure to find something fun to do every single day and the endless cost associated with said fun activities. When September rolls round and you get to finally see the back of them for the first time in ages, and I bet most parents breathe a quiet sigh of sweet relief.

Most parents that is. Not Lisa Sobis. The mum-of-two from Bourton-on-the-Water in the Cotswolds decided that she didn't need to be all fake about how she really felt about the end of the summer holidays.

Amidst the sea of 'back to school' photos showing proud parents gleefully packing their kids off to school, Lisa went all out and posted an amazing selfie. With her kids looking on in the background, Lisa held a one woman party to celebrate her two going back to school.

She doesn't hold back - the photo shows her posing with a glass of wine, in a room full of balloons, complete with a party hat on her head.

She posted it on her local paper's Facebook, with the caption: "As you can see, I was pretty gutted to see my children go back to school LOL. Ta-La Kids!"

Her two daughters, Ruby, eight, and Belle, five, who attend Springback Primary Academy in Cheltenham, stand in the background with their arms crossed, looking less than impressed.

Lisa said that the photo was all just a bit of fun, and that her kids saw the funny side to it too. We believe you, Lis.

She said: "My children know I love them dearly but when the first day of school comes around, it is nice to see them back off.

"You see all these pictures on the first day back of school of children posing nicely in front of the fireplace or the doorway.

"I just wanted to do something different from the traditional.

"We do live in a fun household - we all found taking the photo to be very humorous."

Seems like everyone else thought it was funny too, one friend posted: "This has absolutely creased me!"

Another sympathised: "How many other mothers agree with her. All glad to see the kiddies back at school."

While a third added: "I felt so happy when I dropped them off. Yes back to reality wow wow."
