If you've always wanted to escape your boring life and live on an isolated island in a big, old, castle - Boy, do we have an opportunity for you.

The folk who run St Michael's Mount - a massive island castle in Cornwall - are hiring.

The job is as a Visitor Services Manager at the tourist hotspot, so the hours will probably be quite long and busy, but look at the venue - you it's probably impossible to be unhappy in that setting.

The Facebook advert says: "A rare opportunity to join the team at St Michael's Mount and become a part of the management team that helps to inspire those that bring the Mount stories alive, and provide a memorable and seamless visitor journey.

"We are looking for a practical, positive, solution focused individual, with experience of working in a busy, high volume venue."

It continues: "Does this sound like the perfect job to you? Are you looking for the next step in your career? Does a boat trip to work sound like the best commute? Download a full job description and application form via our website.

"Applications due: 9.00am, Tuesday 17 April 2018"

There you go - you've until next Tuesday to apply if you think it's the job for you.

On the island alongside the picturesque castle are several other historic buildings, a chapel, and a tiny village that houses about 30 people - and you could be one of them.

The job, whilst it offers a relatively modest salary of between £24,000 and £29,000 per year, comes with rent-free accommodation on the island itself.

The island gets about 350,000 visitors per year, so it's not going to be quite the free ride you might think - you'll have your work cut out for you managing around 30 seasonal staff members too.

However, in return for the hassle the job will create you'll be able to soak in the tranquillity of living in a beautiful island setting surrounded by quaint folk and colonies of seabirds.

It's worth considering the fact that you won't just be able to pop to the shops on the mainland, though. It is an island after all.

However, at certain times of the day you'll be able to get across if you fancy wading through a load of sand. When the tide is out it is connected to the mainland - just imagine carrying bags back from Tesco across a sand flat.

It's worth considering the fact that you won't just be able to pop to the shops on the mainland, though. It is an island after all.

There are a few restaurants and the like on the island, so you won't starve either way.

If you still think you're cut out for this, get your CV in by 17 April.
