An Interview With The Girl Who Got A Big Tattoo Of Ed Miliband's Face On Her Leg

TheLADbible: Hi Hannah! Introduce yourself.

Hannah Stock: I'm 18, I'm from Bedfordshire, and I'm in my first year at City University London, studying optometry.

I've got to ask. What compelled you to get a big tattoo of Ed Miliband's face - the one that's currently whirling around the internet - on your leg?

I totally loved him as Labour leader. I really respected his determination to bring good policies to the people. I kind of woke up yesterday and thought 'why not?'

I can appreciate that. How do you feel now that Jeremy Corbyn is Labour leader?

Not so great. I think he's a lovely guy, just not who I want leading the Party. I'm not sure he can attract the attention of the kind of people we need to get votes from to win in 2020.

Would you say Corbyn is too radical for Labour?

Not necessarily for Labour, but for people Labour needs to get votes from - which is almost more important than the Parliamentary Labour Party.

Anyways, I think I'm getting off topic. How did your mum react to the tattoo?

My sister took a video for me because I'm at university, not at home. In the video, my mum says 'tell me that's not what I think it is'. My sister updated me through the night saying she was pacing around and getting quite tearful, repeating 'what are we going to do with her?'

But it's on your leg right? So it's not as if she'll be able to see it all the time?

True, but if I wear a skirt or a dress it's fully out.

Would you have a tattoo of David Miliband if he had become Labour leader? I've always thought he was the better looking of the two.

David's pretty hot, but I'm not sure the Milifandom would've been the same without Ed. It's Ed being an oddball that makes him what he is.

Fair point. In the pantheon of political tattoos, how does yours compare to 'UKIP lady with Farage on arm'?

I think the artist who did mine has done a much better job.

Did you ever see that episode of The Simpsons where Marge gets a discount on a screen printed t-shirt because they blurred her face? I think the Farage one kind of looks like that.

I can see where you're coming from.

Or what about that episode of I'm Alan Partridge, where the superfan has a giant tattoo of Alan on his chest. Would you ever invite Ed back to your house before serving him tea in an Aerialator?

I think someone's made that comparison. No, I don't think I would. I've probably creeped him out enough for one lifetime.

I'm sure he'd be a fan. Would you show Ed the tattoo if you got to meet him?

Of course! I've met him before but it was pre-tattoo. We need to get a picture like the one of Nigel Farage and the Nigel Farage tattoo lady.

Definitely. Thanks for speaking to me, Hannah.
