Amber-May Ellis, a student at the University of Reading, recently got a tattoo of Ian Beale's face on her thigh.
Ian Beale is a character in EastEnders. He went through a bit of a bad patch at one stage, where he ended up sleeping rough. This is the period Amber-May chose to permanently immortalise on her leg.
Much like the girl who got Ed Miliband tattooed on her thigh or the lad who had his preferred kebab order etched on his arse, I reached out to Amber-May to ask about her new ink.

Amber-May Ellis: Yeah, that's so okay! What do you want to know? This is honestly so weird. I only got it for banter.
I think people should only ever get tattoos for banter TBH.

That's the best thing I've ever seen. Banter aside, was there any other reason you got the Ian Beale tattoo?
Basically, it was just because of a drunken bet. If I lost I had to get the tattoo. I don't remember the bet, I was that drunk. But I knew I lost and I thought, fuck it, I should follow through on my promises.
Honestly, if the price is right I'd get anything tattooed on me. The only negative comments about my Ian tattoo are from lads.
I feel really ashamed to say it, but I've never watched EastEnders.

If I'm honest, Ian Beale is a bit of a melt. He had a mental breakdown because his money-grabbing wife didn't love him, which started his hobo phase. He is the only character that's been in EastEnders since the beginning. Same actor and everything.
It's all about keeping it real like Ian Beale! That's my motto in life now. But I understand why people think I'm a complete dick for getting it.
What do the boys think of your tattoo? Is it a good way to pull?
I get it out all the time in the club! Ultimate wingman! However, I was going out with a girl when I first got it done.
Some lads have said it's like having a threesome with Ian Beale. Like he is just staring at them, so it can be a mood killer. But if you don't have enough banter to handle it, then you need to leave.
That's what I always say.
