Aussie Uses Drone To Have A Drink With His Neighbour Under Social Distancing Rules

You can still have fun, even during self-isolation.

An Aussie bloke has come up with an ingenuous way of having a drink with his neighbour under the current social distancing rules.

Millions of Australians and people around the world aren't able to hang out or see each like they normally would because of the coronavirus.

Loads are missing their daily or weekly social interactions; even just a wave from someone on your way to the bus stop would be nice.

In Australia, you're not allowed to have interactions with more than one other person who isn't your family or housemates. But that doesn't mean you still can't at least try to have some fun.

South Australian resident Joe Mignone was tired of not getting to hang out with his neighbours, so he devised a way of having a drink with them.

He used his trusty drone to fly two glasses of Johnny Walker Gold Edition from his home to the people next door.

The Adelaide local has told LADbible: "I run my business called Entertaining Events. Of course it's plummeted to zero with the current situation so I am working from home and trying to keep everyone positive.

"We often catch up for drinks with neighbours and I love to fly my drone so this was a good way to do both while having a bit of fun."

It seems like the delivery was very well received and no doubt made everyone smile during a rough time.

It's not the first time a drone has been used for something positive during this coronavirus lockdown.

Jeremy Cohen, 28, from New York, spotted a woman dancing on the rooftop of the building cross from his and enlisted the help of his flying device to shoot his shot.

The photographer at first waved and said, 'hi', before writing down his number and taping it to a drone which he then flew over to her.

And his plan worked, the woman, whose name is Tori, text back and the pair have even had a virtual date. Romance in 2020, eh?

Sharing the first clip, Jeremy wrote: "I can't believe this actually worked and yes this is a real story."

In a second clip he can be seen getting ready for his date, before stepping out onto his balcony where a table is set up for dinner for one and over on Tori's rooftop there's a similar set up.

The pair then enjoy their respective meals while taking part in a video chat and getting to know one another.
