The couple that were kicked off a United Airlines flight after their toddler refused to wear a face mask have gone on holiday without her.

Eliza Orban said she was left 'heart broken' that her and her husband couldn't take their daughter along with them on their festive holiday.

Earlier this month, the family hit the headlines as they were asked to leave the flight with their two-year-old daughter as they attempted to travel with her from Denver to Newark.

They wanted to go and see the magical Christmas tree at the Rockefeller Center in New York City and tried to come up with alternative methods of covering the little girl's mouth.

The video that was posted on social media quickly went viral. In it Eliza says: "We just got kicked off a flight because our two-year-old would not put on a mask."

Now the couple have gone away with Delta - a different airline - and even better, they've bagged themselves first class flights.

Taking to Instagram once again, Eliza wrote: "It breaks our heart that we couldn't bring our daughter, we tried calling the airlines and couldn't get a straight answer from anyone and we could honestly just not go through again what we went through on Friday. Just driving to the airport today was super triggering."

She went on: "Our daughter is in the best hands at home, and as hard as it is that she's not here - knowing how much love she is surrounded by gives us so much peace. We couldn't bear to take her through what we went through again.⁣

"I STILL feel humiliated, traumatized, and triggered by what happened. But the amount of messages I have gotten by people being on our side and experiencing similar situations has truly been overwhelmingly beautiful.⁣"

Concluding the post, Eliza wrote: "And for all the people calling us morons for traveling in a pandemic, please slide to the next picture posted BY @united and remember there are hundreds of thousands of people flying every single day- but if it makes you happy to single us out, then whatever floats your boat."

In a statement given to LADbible at the time, a United Airlines spokesperson said: "The health and safety of our employees and customers is our highest priority, which is why we have a multi-layered set of policies, including mandating that everyone on board 2 and older wears a mask.

"These procedures are not only backed by guidance from the CDC [The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention] and our partners at the Cleveland Clinic, but they're also consistent across every major airline."
