Parents can be pretty embarrassing. In fact, that tends to be pretty much their main mission in life. Especially Dads. Dads love nothing more than embarrassing their kids, and you're never too old for it.
Enter Dennis Leavey. Dennis is a father from Queens, New York, and managed to accidentally embarrass his daughter in front of the whole damn internet by accidentally photobombing another young woman.
At first glance it looks like he is having a good old-fashioned look at the woman. His eyes appear to be wandering off whilst she takes a selfie. Bad timing, you might think, but there is more to it.
The picture, captioned "Wow what a photobomb," went viral and received more than 28k likes since it was posted on 15 May A lot of people thought it was hilarious and it quickly became a meme.
This brought it to the attention of Dennis' daughter Alex.
She found out about it and posted on Twitter: "You ever check twitter and realize your fucking father has turned into a meme?"
Oh God. That must be every child's worst nightmare, especially given the circumstances.
Alex told Buzzfeed: "I immediately knew it was my dad and was laughing at most of the replies to it.
"My dad has a really big personality so for people who know him it was so funny that of all people walking around in Manhattan of all places this picture was taken and he's in it."
However, all is not as it seems.
You see, Dennis is actually blind in one eye, so there is every chance that he wasn't staring at the woman at all. In fact, it's more likely that he was just looking downwards.
Alex has asked her dad about it, and he reckons the same. He doesn't remember the exact moment of the picture, but said that it's not likely that he was checking the young woman out.
She continued: "Looking at the picture, he says he was just looking down!"
Anyway, Twitter loves the fact that Alex's dad got turned into a meme. They aren't worried about whether he was staring at the girl or not.
It's worth mentioning that Dennis' wife, and Alex's mum, has no idea about this whole sorry affair just yet. With any luck she doesn't frequent the corners of the internet in which this is a big thing.
It's just further proof that no matter what, dads can find a way to embarrass you - even without trying.
