A chiropractor in the US had to adopt some eye-watering techniques to help a patient with a severely curved spine. Watch here (if you reckon you've got the stomach for it):

Dr Joseph Cipriano has helped to correct countless backs at his clinic in Greenville, South Carolina, but he was faced with a monumental task when he had to treat a patient with Scheuermann's Disease.

The condition is a hereditary disease which causes wedging of the spinal vertebrae, creating a hyperkyphosis in the thoracic spine, which results in a 'hunchback' appearance.

So, how to help with this? After carrying out a specific set of chiropractic adjustments, Dr Cipriano used a Y-strap to decompresses the spine by correcting kinks in the epi-pia collagen network.

In layman's terms, he pops a handle around the patient's noggin and tugs on it sharply, making the viewer want to spew in their mouth. At least that's the effect it had on me, anyway.

Rather you than me mate.

After two rounds of this, the patient said they felt a tingling in their legs and had an 'almost out of body experience'. Which is just as well really, as I wouldn't fancy being in that body as Dr Cipriano continually cracked it like a twig.

For the doc though, there is no greater pleasure than helping patients such as this fella, who came to his clinic back in 2019.

Speaking at the time, Dr Cipriano said: "There is no better feeling in the world when people can get their lives back and live without pain.

"You feel accomplished and proud knowing that you did something great for someone.

"Some patients get immediate relief after my adjustments and some may get a little soreness first, then get relief days later.

"The soreness is usually from the muscles being stretched and the body not being used to it. Simple resting, hydration and icing will correct this.

"Patients' emotions are priceless due to a chronic pain being eliminated, and people in shock, because something has finally helped them."

Judging from the comments on videos of his treatments, it seems a lot of people actually find it extremely satisfying and would love to experience it for themselves.

So if you fancy the ultimate back crack, he's your man.
