Gender reveal parties seem to be really fun for the person/people doing it but it's also getting pretty lame.
In the same way planking or saying 'yolo' started out being fun, now it's just really ridiculous and people are trying to outdo each other's reveal party by making the announcement outrageous.
Some have done some downright stupid things to go viral whereas this Florida couple are straight up weird for involving an animal in their reveal.

But it wasn't the family dog or cat that was involved; it was the Childs-Wright's pet alligator Amos.
Video of the reveal has been posted onto social media, showing Mr Snappy in the backyard of Florida couple Stacie Childs-Wright and her husband Chad, according to 7 News Miami.
Chad is waving a long stick with a black balloon in front of the gator's mouth, hoping for it to chomp down on the piece of rubber like it was a zebra at the watering hole.
Sadly, it took Stacie's husband a few times to get Amos to be interested in their little soiree but eventually the crowd got to see a pink puff of powder burst into the air, seemingly leaving Chad and Amos a little disappointed.
Stacie seemed over the moon that she was expecting a little girl but Chad sort of just walked off and placed his hands on his hips like he had a confusing mechanical issue he couldn't fix.
His wife seemed to enjoy the big reveal and revelled in Chad's disappointment. People on social media were confused by the whole thing.
"You did all this and show no emotion for your future child and wife? Don't forget the alligator whose eyes and mouth were covered by the powder, no words," wrote one person.
"Wow...he sure didn't keep his disappointment a secret! If I were her, I'd run the hell away from him and that gator," said another.
While I'm sure gender reveal parties are usually a lot more fun, there are others that end up with someone in handcuffs.
One Aussie couple decided to take it up a notch by doing a gender reveal in the form of a burnout.
It was happy news for some when the blue smoke erupted into the air. However it wasn't great when the cops knocked on their door asking questions about a certain video of the stunt going viral.
The blue car in the video was confiscated by police and four people have been charged for the dangerous incident.

According to 7 News, officers weren't happy with how close some of the videographers were to the car while the stunt was being performed.
