A 19-year-old woman has won over Twitter after sharing her inspirational weight loss story, posting a set of transformation photos to mark one year of hard graft and sharing more about her experience in a candid video on her YouTube channel.

Gabi Mendoza, who works as an online trainer and kids' gymnastics coach, has said she managed to shed a whopping 35lbs the 'simple' way - eating well and working out.

In the photos, Gabi can be seen wearing the same bikini top, which she wore to highlight the changes in her body. In later snaps, she revealed that the top no longer fits, and that she has to now tie it up at the back.

Speaking to LADbible, Gabi explained that her weight loss was down to working out every day and eating healthily.

She said: "I lost weight through a diet that consisted of real food - something my body wasn't used to at all!

"I went from eating fast food almost every day to eat veggies and lean meats with healthy fats and my body went into shock! I think that's why I had so much progress so quick.

"I worked out every day for the last year, many hours spent in the gym over the last year but it was all worth it for a healthy life I can actually enjoy!"

Gabi said that her turning point came last year, adding: "I was walking up a staircase one day at 18 and I couldn't make it up the staircase without losing my breath.

"I knew it would only go downhill from there if I didn't do something about it."

Gabi stresses that losing weight doesn't have to be difficult, and that the best way to get results is to 'keep it simple' rather than reaching out for weight loss fads and quick fixes.

"My best advice to someone trying to lose weight is that you have to keep it simple! So many people are on the Internet advertising teas and pills and that's not the way to do it," Gabi said.

"Eating real food and getting a workout in (not just a cardio session but weight lifting) you will see progress!"

She added: "This experience has boosted my confidence not because my physical appearance changed, but because now I know I can do anything I set my mind to!"

Fair bloody play, Gabi. We salute you.
