If you've ever had a holiday romance, you'll know that they're intense. For a whole week, you and your 'one' become entwined in promises of tomorrow and the rose-tinted anticipation of an amazing life together back home in Blighty.
Sure, most of the time these things just fizzle out - it's amazing what a bit of sun, sea and sangria can do to one's judgement - but what if you're deprived of the chance to find out if your holiday fling was actually the real deal?

What if you met your one true love but your chances of happiness were taken away by a wicked twist of fate?
That's exactly what happened to poor old Dan Millington from Warrington, who has taken to social media in a desperate effort to find his girl that got away.
While on holiday in Ibiza, Warrington boy Dan met Stacey from Stoke-on-Trent. The two hit it off and exchanged numbers before presumably parting ways, which is when catastrophe struck.

While out partying, Dan's mobile phone with Stacey's number on was stolen and, just like that, all record of Stacey from Stoke-on-Trent was gone.
Of course, there was nothing that Dan could do. Stacey was gone and so was his phone.
But instead of admitting defeat and succumbing to the bad hand he'd been dealt, a star-crossed Dan decided to tweet about his dilemma.
His tweet said: "Could have possibly met the love of my life in Ibiza until I had my phone stolen with her number on it. So if Stacey the 27-year-old beautician from Stoke who drives a Mini is out there then please holla."

In just three days since its posting, Dan's plea has been retweeted over 2,000 times and has received 87 comments of well wishes and advice.
One wise commenter suggested: "You must have text her or drop-called her before you lost your phone, if so get an itemised bill from your phone company and hey presto... Invite me to the wedding."
However, not everybody is a fan of a real-life Cinderella story.
Some have been cynical about tweet, claiming that Stacey probably has a boyfriend at home and is probably lying very, very low at the moment.

Nevertheless, the masses are doing all that they can to make sure that Desperate Dan gets his girl back. The story has even been picked up by Stoke-on-Trent's local media.
So, to the 27-year-old Mini-driving beautician from Stoke-on-Trent called Stacey - your one true love is waiting for you.
Put the boy out of his misery and slide into his DMs.
