Man Goes Ice Skating Half-Naked And Face Plants On Frozen Canal

The clip, shared by Twitter user @ikkomuitdrenthe, starts off well enough for the poor bloke who's cutting about on the ice like Christopher Dean as people look on admiring his skills.

But all of a sudden, there's a loud crack and before he knows what's what, the man - who is wearing just a pair of shorts for some reason - ends up partially dropping through the ice before ploughing face first into the freezing cold water.

Not ideal.

Thankfully, he's no worse for wear after his dip into the icy depths and the crowd of people watching seem to particularly enjoy his mishap.

He then makes his way, slowly and carefully back over to where it's still frozen and manages to pull himself onto the ice with some help from an onlooker who chucks him a rope.

He decides to give a quick bow, before he skates off like it was a no big deal.

The woman who posted the clip told LADbible: "I am not sure who the man is but he seemed to enjoy providing entertainment for everyone watching!

"In Amsterdam we have a 9pm curfew and I think the canals freezing over at the weekend gave everyone a bit of excitement in the current lockdown situation.

"He was fine afterwards - I saw him wrapped up in a towel shortly after and everyone was cheering him."

As you may have guessed, there was little sympathy for the poor man and his impromptu dip.

After it was shared online, one person said: "When the ice starts breaking and it sounds like metal support cables are snapping, you know you're gonna have a bad time."

Another asked: "What on EARTH Makes people do things like this? Glad he's rescued, but dude."

A third joked: "A timely reminder and perspective on the world.

"Even civilised countries have idiots, not just UK."

But not everyone took the p***, one woman was pretty impressed with the whole situation, writing: "Okay is it me but he just acted like falling in ice water in shorts is no different than falling in warm water on a hot summer's day?

"Talk about breath control. I'm impressed and slightly turned on. I would've been screaming bloody murder."
