A man has been left red-faced after he was duped into posing with a bondage bed before the picture was used on Facebook Marketplace where it went viral.

John Lower, 39, was helping his sister-in-law Tracy McLaughlin, 53, build the £700 ($990) bed so she could take some pictures for an advertisement to sell it.

Somehow Tracy managed to talk John into getting on the bed and bending over with his hands through the arm holes... there might be a kinky word for them that I'm not aware of.

After posting the pictures on social media, Tracy started receiving calls from all over the world.

John on the other hand has been dubbed 'the deviant' by his colleagues.

John, who works as a machine technician, said: "I was helping to build the bed and stupidly thought I'd have a go for a laugh but then they locked me in.

"I didn't even know the photos had been taken until they were all over Facebook. At first I was mortified, people were coming up to me in work and saying all sorts.

"I've got a new nickname now, they all call me 'the deviant'.

"I've always been able to have a laugh at myself though so I see the funny side."

It's a good job really.

Tracy, a carer, claims she got calls from France and Spain as well as comments from social media users who found the ad hilarious.

Funnily enough, she is actually selling the bed for her 33-year-old son, Marc, who recently moved back in to her home. Marc bought the bed initially for... wait for it... £1,850 ($2,600).

She said: "I think people were shocked to see it posted but it's just like selling any other bit of furniture on there.

"We're a very open family but I have been explaining to my friends that it's not my bed.

"We've all been absolutely dying with laughter since it went viral, John is quite gullible bless him but he's definitely seen the funny side."

According to the family from Wallasey, Merseyside, they've been inundated with contact from people interested in the bed and some people in Bristol have even asked whether it could be delivered to them.

I mean, if that's your thing it certainly looks interesting and impressive.
