Because the internet is a wild, beautiful, weird and scary place, it can be a fantastic way to find out information.

Hacks are some of the best nuggets of information you can acquire, whether it be easy ways to change a tyre, how to save money here and there or how to make something from scratch.

It's also a haven for cooking tricks and one Sydney man has revealed his hack for making the perfect boiled egg.

While many of us will chuck a pot on the stove, wait till it boils, then dump a couple of eggs in and wait, this bloke is doing what many have never thought to do.

He's revealed his hack on the Facebook group Subtle Asian Traits and has blown people away.

Sadly he wasn't specific with his methods, however comments on the post suggest around 10 minutes in the kettle will do it.

The guy is aided by the clear kettle because it will allow you to check whether the egg has cracked mid-way through the boil.

While this might be news to some, it seems like this hack has been around for a while and Better Homes and Gardens even has a recipe for it.

Another man revealed to the Aussie publication that he always boiled his eggs that way and the tip is to leave them in there for up to 13 minutes.

"However, this method comes with a small risk of the egg exploding over the element inside," Better Homes and Gardens writes. "But as Dean says, the few times he's cooked eggs in a kettle, '(one egg, two eggs and last night with four eggs) all the kettles had exposed elements and they didn't break'."

So if you're not bothered about doing the whole stove thing, then just whack them in the kettle and enjoy your meal.
