A petition has been set up to try and stop Cafe Patron from being discontinued after owner Bacardí made the shock announcement on Friday (8 October).
The Change.org page was set up three days ago, and despite getting just over 600 signatures up to yet, we think it's due a boost because 'the world is s*** enough' without the loss of the popular tequila and coffee-based liqueur, according to one fan.
The petition was set up by Nulagh Kavanagh to prevent Cafe Patron liqueur vanishing from supermarket shelves.

The description reads: "Bacardi have decided to stop making the delicious Patron XO Cafe Tequila. This is an absolute travesty and we cannot allow it to happen.
"Patron has been a key spirit that's bought everyone together! Many a blurry night and memories made with Patron, how can it be cancelled and taken away from us after the hell of the pandemic. Enough is enough!
"We need to stop this mistake in its tracks and let Bacardi know it's not acceptable! Please join the petition, our nights out and patron espresso martinis depend on it!
"Please help get my plea to the president and COO of Patron, Mauricio Vergara!"

Confirming the discontinuation of the coffee-infused liqueur, Vergara told The Grocer the business wanted to focus 'on growing and protecting production and supply of our core super and ultra-premium tequilas'.

Apparently Patrón Silver, Patrón Reposado, Patrón Añejo and 'other Patrón super and ultra premium variants' are the company's 'top priority' going forward.
Not wanting to cause mass panic (but doing so anyway), Vergara said that it's 'an incredibly exciting time to be in the tequila business - we are thrilled to see consumer demand for tequila continuing to explode around the world'.
He went on: "Tequila is seeing rapid growth and incredible momentum - not just in the United States, but it is the second fastest-growing category in value across the globe."
