Preacher Backtracks And Says He Just Wants People To ‘Believe’ He’ll Get £52m Private Plane

He was mocked around the world for saying that he needed the expensive jet to spread the word of the gospel

Most kids who grew up with Santa Claus knew that in order to get your presents you not only had to be a good boy or girl, but you also had to believe in Father Christmas.

Well, it seems as though evangelical leader Jesse Duplantis has the same mentality when it comes to him getting a private plane.

You may be aware of the Evangelical Charismatic Christian minister, as he attracted headlines around the world last week when he appeared on his programme, This Week With Jesse, to ask his followers for a new private jet.

And it wasn't some flimsy, second-hand, shit-box. No, Jesse wants a Falcon 7X, which casually retails at around £52 million.

Considering that his request for the jet - which, by the way, would be the fourth plane that he the church has owned - was gratuitously mocked, he's now backtracked a bit.

Instead of asking his followers for the money to buy the swanky jet, he's asking them to 'believe' it to just pop out of the sky.

In a new video on his website he said that God told him: "You don't need to raise money for this. This will just come."

Hmmm, I wonder if that will apply to me getting rid of my student debt? If I want it to go away then maybe, just maybe, the Lord will taketh away.

Jesse added: "So I'm believing for it and I want you to believe with me."

He said that plenty of people have come forward since his viral video and said that they want to 'help out' and he said that was up to them.

"We've always been open and honest, and you know that," he said in the video.

"To all you other people that may not understand this, and you have that right, I will not defend myself because I didn't do nothing wrong."

In the original message that went viral, he posed next to the three planes that the church has owned over the years and attempted to explain that they needed the fourth to spread the gospel.

"Some people believe that preachers shouldn't have jets," he said.

"I really believe that preachers ought to be able to go on every available voice, every available outlet to get this gospel preached to the world."

Jesse wants the Falcon 7X because it can virtually go anywhere in the world in one stop. He's previously said that travelling on a commercial plane, like the rest of us, is wrong for him because it's full of demons.

He added that if Jesus were alive today, he certainly wouldn't be riding around on a donkey and would definitely have his own jet. Okay Jesse, whatever you say.
