A grandma and granddaughter have turned some heads after sharing footage of their joint gym session on Instagram.

In the video, 18-year-old Tia Christofi rocks up in school gear before asking her grandma, 63-year-old Lesley Maxwell, to go to the gym with her.

The pair then do a little twirl and, as if by magic, they are both suddenly dressed in pastel gym gear. The magic doesn't stop there though, with the duo then teleporting to the gym, where they show off their incredibly toned physiques as they do squats, pull-ups and dead-lifts with near constant grins on their faces.

Evidently, fitness runs in the family, with Tia boasting more than 112,000 followers on her account, while grandma Leslie has more than 21,000.

Clearly both are in fine fettle, but Leslie's physique is quite frankly outrageous for a woman of her age. Her ripped build is all the more impressive when you consider she only began working out when she was 48.

Tia and Leslie both have popular fitness accounts on Instagram.

Leslie said she had always been interested in fitness, but her mum put her off it, suggesting boys don't like muscular girls.

According to the Metro, she said: "I had always had a keen interest in fitness and health and I was determined to find a way to nourish my body to look and feel younger.

"I used to love being strong and winning bets with boys that I could lift more than them. My mum used to tell me 'boys don't like girls with muscles' - but I know they did."

Leslie has since proven her mum emphatically wrong and said she has become accustomed to attracting attention from younger men.

She said: "I'm always approached by younger men, I feel ageless so it works. All of my partners have been younger than me, including my ex-husband, whom I had a 13-year age gap with.

"I'm much happier and confident in myself now than when I was younger, especially since I have made many friends through the gym and competing."

As for Leslie's advice for other women who want to get super buff, it's quite simple - lift weights NOW.

She said: "Train with weights to create a younger-looking body, as it can really lift and tone bums and arms better.

"I don't feel judged as I train just as hard as anyone else - it's a fantastic community and I don't think age comes into it.

"All I'd say is - don't wait! I think every woman would like to bring their sexy back."
